Football Banquet

Last night we had the end of the year football banquet. It was such a great year! I am so glad that Michael's Senior year of football ended with them going to the 3rd round of playoffs. These boys worked so hard and they played together as a team. I was so sad that it is over, but hopeful that Michael will go on to play in junior college. We decided last night that we need to have an alumni section because we still feel so connected. I look forward to watching these boys next year. I pray they will continue to do well.

We are so excited to announce that we have a grandbaby on the way. Megan and Chad are expecting on Aug 11th. I cannot wait!! We have lots to do and I know it will be here before we know it. Megan and Chad have a lot going on. They are moving to Bainbridge, GA which will be half the distance closer. I am not sure yet how long it will take to get there but I think about 5 1/2 to 6 hours. I am excited about that to. Please keep them in your prayers.

A Murphy Wedding

My neice Jennifer Murphy got married on Dec 13th. It was a beautiful wedding and Jennifer was a beautiful bride. We had to leave Mark at home to stay with Mrs. Murphy. She was in the hospital with pneumonia. Jennifer's wedding was the bright spot of the month. Jennifer teaches at Hinds Community College and Brent is a policeman and I am pretty sure he is going to school. He is a really nice guy so I think we will claim him. Edith Shelton is Mark's sister. She is in the purple for those of you that don't know her. She is also Ben Shelton's Mom.

Happy New Year!!

We have had a pretty rough month of December. To make a long story short. I had an episode with my heart racing. I ended up having to have an ablation. That is when you have an extra circuit in your heart and they go in a zap it. Everything went great and I go back on Feb 10. Michael and his friend Hilton got hit head on by a drunk driver. They hurt their knees, but no surgery for either boy. We were really relieved for Hilton because he has had 2 surgeries on that knee and he is getting ready for his senior year in baseball. We were also relieved for Michael who ended up with a bone bruise. It will just take some time to heal with therapy. We are hoping he gets to continue to play football at a junior college. We won't know until some time in February. Mrs. Murphy was in the hospital with pneumonia. I don't think I have updated on her in a while. She broke both of her arms and had to have surgery on both arms. They found out that she has Multiple Myeloma (sp?). It is cancer of the bone marrow. She is now in the middle of her treatments. She should be through this week. Please keep her in your prayers. I hope this doesn't all sound so matter of fact. Just trying to update without making it so long. We are so thankful that God is always in control. I could not have gotten through all of this without knowing that He is always there. We only have to call on Him.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and I pray that everyone has a Happy New Year!!
